Unsung Producers: 9th Wonder

With another installment of Unsung Producers which we highlight the producer(s) we consider non-mainstream, but have contributed a stellar amount of work to the culture of hip hop.  This edition is dedicated to North Carolina’s own, 9th Wonder.

9th Wonder is a captivating hip hop producer and label owner of Jamla Records. First introduced to the world through the ground breaking group, Little Brother, he has worked with the likes of Mary J. Blige, Wale, Kendrick Lamar and Nipsey Hussle

9th Wonder could have been apart of the legendary Soulquarians with his style being a mesh of modern boom bap blended with  lush soul music.  He chould be arguably considered the Godfather of DAW users in hip hop as his initial notable production tool of choice was Fruity Loops.  His signature style is best displayed in tracks such as Little Brother’s “What Ever You Say” & “Lovin’ It” and his own solo effort entitled “Make It Big”.

9th Wonder’s runs deep and needs to be acknowledged as he is a well respected figure in hip hop.  Salute!!!!!!
